Safeguarding Policy

Our principles for ensuring that children and all athletes can play badminton in a safe environment.

The Turkish Cypriot Badminton Federation upholds the right of every athlete, above all children and young people, to take part in sport in a safe environment free from abuse, violence, neglect and discrimination.

Scope

This policy applies to federation officials, staff, coaches, referees, club officials, volunteers and everyone taking part in federation activities.

Our principles

  • The safety and wellbeing of every athlete comes first.
  • Zero tolerance of physical, emotional and sexual abuse, bullying and discrimination.
  • Coaches and officials working with children must provide a certificate of good conduct.
  • Open and observable settings are preferred in training and camps, so that children are not left alone with a single adult.
  • Photos and videos of athletes under 18 are not used for other purposes without parental consent.
  • People who report concerns are protected, and reports are handled confidentially.

Reporting a concern

If you are worried about an athlete's safety, contact the federation by phone, email or the contact form. In an emergency, call the police (155) first.

Breaches of this policy are dealt with under the federation's disciplinary regulations.
