Great Interest in the "My Mum and I Are a Team" Badminton Event

The Carlton Juniors League award ceremony and the Mother's Day badminton event "My Mum and I Are a Team", both organised by our federation, attracted a superb turnout. In his speech before the ceremony, Federation President Fırat Deniz thanked the sponsors, the Sports Department, the Turkish Badminton Federation, the clubs and the press for their support. He also thanked the athletes, coaches, referees and teams who competed in the Carlton Juniors League, which ran from 21 April to 10 May, for their effort and dedication. Thanking the mothers who took part in the event and wishing all mothers a happy Mother's Day, he said such events boost children's motivation and happiness while giving them the chance to play badminton with their mothers. President Deniz then presented a plaque to Zehra Avkıran, the federation's first president, and thanked her for her services. Receiving her plaque, Zehra Avkıran congratulated the President and the Board on the event and said she was very happy to receive such an award on her birthday, 13 May. The event began with cups and medals for the placing teams in the Carlton Juniors League, followed by a group photo and the colourful moment when children gave their mothers carnations provided by the federation. Mothers and children then teamed up for fun single-game matches to 11 points against other mother-and-child pairs. President Deniz said he was delighted with the turnout and with seeing children and mothers playing sport together, and that such events would continue.
